I feel so happy today after finishing my experiment early! It is because I did not make any single mistake nor inefficient actions during my experiment.
Today's experiment is the protection of alcohol group in 1-phenylethanol by 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran. To be frank, I always complain everyday whenever I were asked to analyze a solution by using TLC. I just can't have faith in TLC. XD However, when I was doing column chromatography which requires me to obtain 40 ml chromatographic fractions in 5 conical flasks. I was damn happy to look at the spot on my 2nd fractions. Meaning that my desired product was there. Seriously, looking at my TLC plates make me happy. XD
Seriously, I am super enjoying my chemistry lesson everyday in NUS. It is just so exciting to perform experiment and look at how nature respond to certain changes. Yes, it is tired. Yes, it is exhausting. Yes, it involves cancer-suspect agent. Yes, it involves pungent smell. Yes, it is super exciting and I am loving it! =D
