A summary of my summer holiday

Summer holiday may be the longest holiday that any Southeast Asia students would be able to imagine. Spanning from May all the way to August, students, like me, found it too long for a relaxation and often, many students found that summer holiday is truly boring and unproductive.

Well, that's for them. None of my business. My summer holiday had been filled with many fruitful and meaningful activities. Even though, I did not manage to accomplish what I have set before, but I think it is interesting to summarize all of them here.

MAY
Well, as usual, I got a large base of friends back in my hometown, Medan. The majority of our friends belonged to a group called "UNLEASHED!". It is basically my high-school classmates which identified themselves with a term: UNLEASHED!-ers. The philosophy of UNLEASHED! will be quite long if I were to write them here. Back to the topic, I was greeted with wide smiles, outings and lunch invitations from all my friends back in my hometown. I am really thankful for all that! During this period of time, I was on my adaptation process to live a slower pace of life. Moreover, I also revived my piano-playing hobby back to life and enrolled myself in a driving class. I also participated on Hari Wirawan Wong's birthday sabo! Hope that he had fun back then! =) At this point of time, I was slightly pre-occupied with the upcoming shooting period of UNLEASHED! MOVIE II. We, the committees, dreamed of something big and I knew that I had to work really hard to create something of mediocre standard.

JUNE
Met more people and made more acquaintances =) I was invited to a friend's birthday dinner whom I had never talked to. Quite surprising and exciting at the same time. My activities on UNLEASHED! MOVIE II increased tremendously as we researched for various techniques, screenplays, choreographs, style and sounds for the pre-production of the movie. Trust me, the process was not easy at all. I had a hard time here. To add more pain, my busyness was enhanced with me helping Lewis Laidin to organize UNLEASHED! South-East Asia Trip! We planned to go various tourist hotspots in southeast Asia i.e. Phuket, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur. Trust me again, the process was really tedious. Starting from liasing with the others uncooperative buddies, researching best prices, discussing the outcome and plans and all that. We planned this trip without any help from external agents or whatsoever. =) Well, the trip was at this particular month as well! The trip was really awesome. I really had a great time despite some disappointment and conflicts before going for the trip. I had my hands busy on two big projects i.e. UNLEASHED! MOVIE II and UNLEASHED! SE-ASIA TRIP. Thus, I would like to conclude that I was 'quite' productive during this month.

JULY
The trip ended and everybody went back home with a wide smile on their faces. We strengthen our bonds and had a great deal of fun together as one family, UNLEASHED! =) However, the start of the 7th month in the year was a bad news for me. Why? Because the shooting period for UNLEASHED! MOVIE II started officially on this month. Due to some unforseen circumstances, I have to make last minute changes to the schedule and re-liase with all the crew again and again. I seriously could get pissed more than a time in a day because of it. The shooting went quite well. Everybody had more experience now and could handle the script more professionally. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved in the movie project. I was so busy during this month that I even feel weeks were passing by like days. =.=" However, at the end of the month, we managed to finish most of the clips needed for the movie and I felt soooooooooooooooooooo relieved at that time. Ah, we also had a big (if not the biggest) UNLEASHED! Reunion ever organized at Lewis' residence. We had steamboat together and it was a very good feeling of reuniting with old friends. Laughter and chatters filled the air that night. I taught the North Sumatra Chemistry team for National Science Olympiads as well at this period of time! =)

AUGUST
The new month had begun and I had to finish what I started. I wrapped up everything regarding UNLEASHED! MOVIE II i.e. photoshoots, leftover scenes, designs etc. When everything was finally wrapped up and done, I packed up and left my hometown, departing for my next destination, Japan. I arrived at Japan and had another unique round of fun with Benny Leono, Caterine Lee and the others. Again, I made many acquaintances and I believe that was a good practice for an exchange student (and I was right, in the end). XD I went to Osaka and Tokyo during my 12-days stay in Japan. I seriously had a lot of fun and spent a lot money at Japan! XD After a round of fun at Japan, I traveled solely with Benny Leono to my next destination, Seoul, South Korea. We explored Seoul to its very end and had a lot of more unique type of fun. We shopped, explored, bargained, photographed Seoul. I seriously had a continuous round of fun during this month. I felt guilty for spending so much money =(

Well, what's after that? My summer holiday ended with a bang! The 'bang' was my enrollment into Seoul National University as an exchange student for one semester. Currently, I am having a lot of fun meeting new people across borders and tasting new culture =)

Trust me (for the last time in this post), I had a very great time during this summer holiday and I would like to thank all my friends who have made my summer holiday a special one!
